Look to the future [panoramic cinema]

Time frame

February 2006 - February 2007

One of the key exhibits in BASF’s Visitor Center offers a “Look to the future.” The panoramic movie shows visions, questions and research themes of the close and distant future in a purpose-built cinema. The room with a circular footprint seats 15 viewers. The film is projected across 150° of a cylindrically curved screen using three digital projectors.

In just two months from the first draft script to the finished film, impressive pictures were captured at venues including South America and Mont Blanc. Enhanced with a specially composed orchestral sound track, this is larger-than-life, emotional cinema on 20 square meters.
