Oxyhydrogen rocket

Commissioned by

Time frame

March - October 2006

One of the exhibit highlights in BASF’s visitor center demonstrates elementary chemical processes. By muscular effort the visitor generates electricity, which then decomposes water into a mix of hydrogen and oxygen (detonating gas, oxyhydrogen). The detonating gas is captured and ignited with a bang, sending a rocket several meters up into the air along a steel rope.

Conception, structural design. Identification of manufacturers and comparison of engineering costs. Creation of contents. Quality assurance during realization.
